The idea of "releasing" has to do with the process of letting go of attachments, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, or experiences that don't serve our highest good and get in the way of us growing into the person we're meant to be in this life.
Releasing relates to different parts of our life like relationships, friendships, environments, situations, past trauma, and other things that we've gone through that have a negative impact on our well-being.
When we release, we free ourselves from holding onto the burdens, resentments, and expectations we hold in order to achieve a stronger sense of inner peace, harmony, and spiritual alignment.
The first step in releasing is acknowledging and accepting our emotions or experiences, and then consciously and intentionally choosing to detach from them. This process gives us power over our life and opens us up to deeper understandings of ourselves, the world around us, and brings us more clarity on our spiritual path.
Releasing doesn't mean we forget or that we ignore the past, but rather that we learn from it and then move forward with a lighter heart and a clearer mind. Using our experiences as lessons toward self-mastery for a brighter future.
There are many practices and techniques that are helpful in releasing. See the chart below for 4 ways to release using an integrated approach.
